Our Review [by LITERAL ADDICTION’s Pack Alpha – Michelle L Olson]:
The Darkest Seduction is the ninth installment of the LORDS OF THE UNDERWORLD series and for me personally, was one I have been waiting 8 books for.   I was so worried that my anticipation would cloud my judgment of the story but I should have never worried.  The series continues to get better and better with each new release and Gena never disappoints.
The first thing I want to say about this book is that I felt that Gena grew as a writer even from just the last installment if that’s possible.  I noticed the changes immediately after starting the book and I felt so proud for her.  I don’t know if it’s because Paris spoke through her with such clarity or what, but it was beautifully written in all regards.
Paris, possessed by the demon of Promiscuity, or “Sex” as he calls him, is incredibly tortured.  He’s gone through so much and is in a constant state of guilt because he’s been forced by his demon to hurt those he loves.  When he meets Sienna (in “The Darkest Passion”) he thinks he might finally have a chance at true happiness, but things aren’t always as they appear and you can’t always get what you want.
Losing his chance at Sienna kind of made him crazy and as the series continues after “The Darkest Passion” you see Paris becoming darker and darker and even more tortured.  “The Darkest Seduction” starts out with a true display of that darkness within Paris as he fights his way to try and find and save Sienna’s soul in the heavens where she’s being kept captive by Cronus after being cursed with the demon of Wrath.  He does so much to find and free her and you can’t help but cheer him on the entire way and feel sorry for everything that he goes through at the same time.
When Sienna finally gets her chance to explain to Paris that she didn’t mean what she said to him the last time they saw one another it’s incredibly touching and watching their relationship blossom as the story continues despite every obstacle thrown in their path is incredible.
While this is Paris and Sienna’s book, SO much more happens.  There are major side stories for Kane, Galen, Legion, Ashlyn and her twins, William and his daddy Hades, and some new Lords who we had not yet met, such as the keepers of Narcissism, Obsession, Indifference and Selfishness, which help to make this book, in my honest opinion, the best LOTU yet.
To say that “The Darkest Seduction” is the pinnacle book of the series thus far would almost be an understatement.  It is jam packed with goodness at every turn and I devoured all 504 pages in 1 sitting.
LITERAL ADDICTION Paranormal Book Club gives The Darkest Seduction a well deserved 5 Skulls.
ALL Gena Showalter fans need to read this book,  and we’d recommend it to all Paranormal Romance addicts and even Urban Fantasy readers as well because there is plenty of darkness and to keep those readers happy.
I love Gena Showalter and the Lords of the Underworld!  I cannot wait for the next book.
