Fresh from an ugly breakup that trampled her spirit, Nichole just wants to hide away. Unfortunately, her BFF has other plans. Nichole gets dragged to a girls’ night out at new club called The Claw, where she meets the intense and gorgeous Trey Black. With eyes that burn and a body built for sin, any woman would sit up and take notice. But why bother? Men like him didn’t date women like her.

Trey considers it a good day if he can just stay out of trouble. As the youngest son of the bear Alpha, he’s a master at getting his way. When he meets the curvy, raven-haired goddess, Nichole, he realizes exactly what he wants and knows that she’s worth any amount of trouble. All he has to do is seduce all of her insecurities away and claim her as his bonded mate.

Our 'quick and dirty' review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

Fresh, flirty and fun, Bear Essentials was the perfect distraction read.

Trey is a wonderful Alpha male, just pushy enough but soft when it counts, and Nichole was like the every-woman, healing, slightly insecure, distrustful.

The compliment of the two together made for some explosive scenes and beautiful romance. I'm very excited to learn more about the Bears of Blackrock.

[Archive] LITERAL ADDICTION's Review of The Silver Witch

Paula Brackston lives in a wild, mountainous part of Wales. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Lancaster University, and is a Visiting Lecturer for the University of Wales, Newport. Before becoming a writer, Paula tried her hand at various career paths, with mixed success. These included working as a groom on a racing yard, as a travel agent, a secretary, an English teacher, and a goat herd. Everyone involved (particularly the goats) is very relieved that she has now found a job she is actually able to do properly.
When not hunched over her keyboard in her tiny office under the stairs, Paula is dragged outside by her children to play Swedish tennis on the vertiginous slopes which surround them. She also enjoys being walked by the dog, hacking through weeds in the vegetable patch, or sitting by the pond with a glass of wine. Most of the inspiration for her writing comes from stomping about on the mountains being serenaded by skylarks and buzzards.

In 2007 Paula was short listed in the Creme de la Crime search for new writers. In 2010 her book ‘Nutters’ (writing as PJ Davy) was short listed for the Mind Book Award, and she was selected by the BBC under their New Welsh Writers scheme.

She is the proud creator of The Witch’s Daughter, The Winter Witch and her newest release, The Midnight Witch.

A year after her husband's sudden death, ceramic artist Tilda Fordwells finally moves into the secluded Welsh cottage that was to be their new home. She hopes that the tranquil surroundings will help ease her grief, and lessen her disturbing visions of Mat's death. Instead, the lake in the valley below her cottage seems to spark something dormant in her - a sensitivity, and a power of some sort. Animals are drawn to her, electricity shorts out when she's near, and strangest of all, she sees a new vision; a boatful of ancient people approaching her across the water.

On this same lake in Celtic times lived Seren, a witch and shaman. She was respected but feared, kept separate from the community for her strange looks. When a vision came to her of the Prince amid a nest of vipers she warned of betrayal from one of his own. Prince Brynach both loved and revered her, but could not believe someone close to him wished him harm, even as the danger grew.

In her own time, Tilda's grief begins to fade beside her newfound powers and a fresh love. When she explores the lake's ancient magic and her own she discovers Seren, the woman in her vision of the b

oat. Their two lives strangely mirror each other's, suggesting a strong connection between the women. As Tilda comes under threat from a dark power, one reminiscent of Seren's prophecy, she must rely on Seren and ancient magic if death and disaster are not to shatter her life once more.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION'S Pack Alpha - Chelle:

The Silver Witch is a beautifully written Celtic fantasy with dual points of view. At first, the changing POV and tense tripped me up slightly, but as I got into the next two switching chapters I realized how fabulous that storytelling method could be.

The book, taking place in both present and far past with interweaving storylines, was - pardon the pun - bewitching and magickal. We get to travel the road of Tilda, a modern-day artist overcoming the trials of her differentness and the weight of her grief at the loss of her husband as she desperately tries to build a new life in this beautiful, remote part of Wales. As well as Seren - witch, seer, and shaman to Prince Brynach, as she loses herself to the love that they come to share despite the problems it causes, and tries to keep him safe from the dangers that abound - both within and without of those closest to them. After we're introduced and immersed in both of their exciting journeys, we get to watch as their paths cross when circumstances bring them together through time and space, providing a tale rife with history (I found out that the setting of the book is one near and dear to the author's heart), growth, rebirth, triumph, love, and intrigue.

The Silver Witch was another winner by Ms. Brackston, and I am so very happy that I was given the opportunity to read it. I am coming to absolutely love these stories, and look forward to each new one that she puts out.

I highly recommend all of Ms. Brackston's work, but The Silver Witch is perfect for those looking for a fantasy romance steeped in history (though I cannot say one way or the other if the events referenced are actually factual) with two tales of finding love despite adverse circumstances, all tied together with a beautiful magickal bow.

Once again enter the darkly thrilling world of the Sons of Sangue and their rival MCs in the seductive third installment of Patricia A. Rasey's incredible Sons of Sangue series, chock full of sexy intrigue, suspense, subterfuge and revelation.

Like the previous book, Gypsy picks up where Hawk (book #2) left off, though this one doesn't read quite as well as a standalone seeing as a lot has happened in the last 2 books of the series. After Tamera made a grave error in book #2, Vlad has made an edict that Gypsy must either claim Tamera as his or relinquish his rights to her, never to have her again. In a fit of rage, he pushes her off onto Anton, only to almost immediately realize that he can't get the feisty redhead out of his system or off of his mind. And while Tamera knows she'd be better off with Blondy, she can't let go of her feelings for Gypsy either. Unfortunately, she has more than just her uncontrollable desire for Gypsy to deal with. Vlad is watching her like a hawk, making sure she doesn't screw up, she can't help hurting Blondy and it weighs heavily on her conscience, and her bad decision that led to her mating with Gypsy is coming back to bit her in the a$$ in a big way.

Amidst the maelstrom of want, need, desire, and danger, the Sons' rival (the Devils) is trying to claim additional territory and move cocaine through Draven's club, taking advantage of the Sons' decree for the Rave owner to stop selling and peddling Ecstasy. The book starts out immediately with heart-pounding action and violence, setting the tone beautifully for the mystery and suspense of the rest of the book. And the surprises! Oh the surprises in these books. I look forward to that next shoe dropping every single time! :)

Ms. Rasey writes a wickedly good paranormal tale that will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. After every new book, I wait impatiently for more of these delicious bad boys, and now that even more threads have been added to the world, I am chomping at the bit for book #4.

Highly recommended for paranormal romance, romantic suspense, and fans of alpha bad boy bikers far and wide.

[Archive] LITERAL ADDICTION's Review of The Second Order

B.H Knudson - creator of worlds, designer of experiences.

The Second Order

Buy from Amazon / Amazon UK / Amazon Ca

Ander’s tribe faces extinction. A mysterious disease has taken hold of everyone Ander cares about and he alone remains unaffected. He’ll have to ride his houndsteed through the dangers of the jungle to the neighboring kingdom of Bresia to request assistance.

But Bresia has its own problems. The nation is engulfed in a war with the Second Order, a militant régime bent on conquest. When Ander meets Kiah, the young and beautiful military leader, he inadvertently volunteers to assist the Bresian army, only to be captured in a botched military strike.

Ander is ultimately freed from the Second Order prison by a woman claiming to be his mother. She believes he is the last living heir to that nation's former monarchy. Ander is desperate to save his tribe, but the more he learns of the Order's genocidal plans, the more he realizes that they must be stopped, and he is the only one who can stop them.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

The Second Order is the debut novel by author B.H Kudson and I was pleasantly surprised. :)

It's an intriguing fantasy full of subterfuge, alchemy, and mystery...

Ander finds himself emersed in a long-standing war between the realms, wherein a group of fanatics called the Second Order feels like they should have all the power. And the lengths that they are willing to go to gain that are shocking, to say the least.

The line between cultural differences is blurred as Ander joins forces with other allies and friends to fight the mystical tyranny of the Second Order's ruling body and restore the nation to its former glory while garnering peace between the different clans and peoples.

The Second Order was action-packed and suspenseful, but also had some deep seated messages that I think come across beautifully.

I think that readers of young adult, new adult, and adult fantasy will enjoy taking a walk through Mr. Knudson's imagination. Take a chance on The Second Order.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Nocturnal Nymph - Michelle:

There is nothing I love more than a book that makes me happy! This series is one of my favorites and each one has been fantastic. This one was no different. I am a sucker for people that love animals and Jill, you can see in the books, is one of those people.

In the last book you met Darcy, who had been in an accident and was very badly hurt and going through PT (Physical Therapy). You also met AJ who was her brother's best friend and her Physical Therapist. They were always butting heads and fighting.

Darcy and her brother and sister never had a real home to call their own unless they were at their grandparents house in Sunshine, they also had a hard time trusting people thanks to their parents. In Still the One you will find out what happened to Darcy, why AJ does what he does and you will find out just exactly how someone can over come odds that were never in their favor.

This book has a lot of happy, some sad and even some moments where you want to pull out your hair because you are so mad. It takes a great author to be able to pull out these kind of emotions in one book and Jill did this flawlessly. I can NOT wait for the next one to come out and I know I am going to have to wait as patiently as I can LOL.

I gave this book 5 out of 5 skulls.
